Description: Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, is seeking highly qualified associates with a minimum of three years of litigation experience to join our high-profile litigation practice.

Our Trial, White Collar and Investigations Business Unit boasts a diverse practice encompassing all facets of complex disputes, from pretrial resolution to trial, including business and commercial litigation, white collar defense and investigations, consumer protection and advertising, employment, entertainment, financial services litigation, health care litigation, intellectual property, patent litigation, and privacy and data security, among others. Our litigators work collaboratively across offices and industry sectors.

Candidates should have hands-on litigation experience, including conducting legal research, handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, drafting pleadings, writing briefs, preparing and arguing motions, and preparing for trial. Excellent legal writing and research skills are required. Prior experience as a judicial law clerk is a plus. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of solid litigation experience, preferably with some commercial litigation, trial or white collar and investigations experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple, diverse projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent team player skills with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and the flexibility to engage and collaborate across the firm’s capabilities and practice areas
  • Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently and proactively and to develop creative solutions that meet client and team needs
  • California Bar membership in good standing
