Position: Corporate Counsel
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Description: Support the Monetization Legal team across a wide range of subject matters, including Corporate and New Products. Corporate responsibilities include the following:
- Support management of the North America entity portfolio, including annual filings, foreign qualification statements, surveys, business licenses and related registrations and reports;
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Tax, Finance, Global Corp Structure and Governance, and Public Policy to establish entity guidelines and best practices across group companies;
- Serve as a key point of contact for any questions related to corporate governance; and
- Build out and iterate on playbooks, resources, FAQs and related guidelines. Product and Commercial responsibilities include the following:
- Provide legal support and guidance for non-TikTok apps and products seeking support in the US market;
- Review Product Requirements Docs (PRDs), NDAs, and assist with general transactions and other commercial matters;
- Educate and inform product and business leads of preliminary requirements, market standards and best practices for entrants in the relevant market; and
- Help build out a go-to-market strategy and ensure product roadmap is consistent with established SOPs and can be integrated into existing processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus a Juris Doctorate from a top-tier ABA-accredited law school. – Member in good standing of the California or New York bar.
- 3-6 years of post-qualification law practice.
- Experience at law firms and in-house at technology platforms or startup-stage companies is preferred.
- Self-starter with the ability to handle complex issues with minimal guidance.
- Highly organized and energetic, able to navigate a fast-paced environment and be able to effectively serve deadline-oriented clients.
