Michelle R. Mangrum has been named managing partner of Shook, Hardy and Bacon’s (SHB) Washington, D.C. office. She has been with SHB for 18 years and has resided in the Washington, D.C. area since 2000.
Her practice has been focused primarily on the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in products liability and commercial litigation. She has litigated products liability cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States and has presented oral arguments in many appellate courts.
Mangrum served on many committees at SHB, including the Women’s Management Counsel and the Diversity Committee. Mangrum is also a registered nurse.
While in law school, she served on the Editorial Board of the Missouri Law Review and was a member of Order of the Coif. She serves as co-national counsel for Eli Lilly and Company in several litigation matters. She also acted as national counsel for The Upjohn Company in products liability and defamation litigation and as regional counsel for Eli Lilly and Company in hundreds of cases.
Mangrum received her J.D. and graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She earned a B.A. in nursing and graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri.
