Loretta P. Martinez has been appointed general counsel for Metropolitan State College of Denver. Ms. Martinez will serve as the chief legal advisor to the president and Board of Trustees, providing legal advice and counsel on all matters affecting the legal rights or obligations of the college. Ms. Martinez previously served as general counsel for the Colorado State University system, and before that as legal counsel and general secretary, as well as acting director of human resources, for Colorado College. She began her legal career clerking for the United States District Court of Colorado and working as a litigator in private practice specializing in employment law, products liability, and commercial litigation. She received her B.A. in political science from Yale University in 1988 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1991.
