Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. and Edna M. Messick have formed an executive search and consulting firm, Messick & Johnson. The firm, based in Jersey City, N.J., and San Francisco, will specialize in placing corporate counsel, partners, and mid-level associates in major corporations and international law firms worldwide, with a focus on recruitment of diversity candidates. Consulting services are also available for firms contemplating mergers and practice group acquisitions.
Prior to forming the firm, Messick was the managing director and associate publisher of American Lawyer Media’s Diversity Publishing Group and law firm practice development director of the New York Law Journal, where she produced such publications as the National Directory of Minority Attorneys and the Minority Law Journal. She also serves as a trustee of Lawyers for One America and was a collaborator in its Report to the President of the United States on the Status of Color and Pro Bono Services in the Legal Profession: Bar None.
