Director of Human Resources, Refining and Supply

Brian Matthew Rhodes has been named director of human resources, refining and supply, of Sunoco, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of petroleum and petrochemical products.
Previously, Rhodes had been a senior attorney with Sunoco’s labor and employment group.
Prior to coming to Sunoco, Rhodes was a trial attorney with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he prosecuted companies who engaged in employment discrimination.
Rhodes also worked for the Central Intelligence Agency as an analyst in the Directorate of Intelligence, Leadership Analysis Division.
Rhodes graduated magna cum laude from Hampton University in 1989 and the West Virginia University College of Law in 1993. In law school, he was active in several organizations, including the Lugar Trial Association, Black Law Students Association, and in moot court competitions.
Rhodes was on the board of directors of the Tenant Action Group (“TAG”), a non-profit agency established to promote and defend the rights of tenants and homeless people. He is also a member of the NAACP, Concerned Black Men, and is a Prince Hall Mason.
