Position: Transactional Senior Counsel
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Description: Genentech seeks a strategic, experienced transactional attorney with a passion for and expertise in structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex bio-pharma licensing and strategic transactions, and to provide legal support to the global Legal Business Development & Group Functions (LBG) team and other groups within Genentech. This position reports directly to a Senior Director, Associate General Counsel leader in Genentech’s LBG practice group.
Qualifications:
- A United States law degree (JD) with a current “good standing” admission to at least one US state bar;
- 7 or more years of relevant practice experience in the practice of licensing or strategic transactions with at least 3 years of experience in a law firm; and
- Substantial experience drafting and negotiating life sciences licensing and collaboration agreements (Please provide a deal sheet, along with your resume for application.)
Preferred qualifications include:
- Biology/chemistry undergraduate/graduate degree;
- 3+ years of in-house experience licensing in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other life sciences industry; or 3+ years of law firm experience licensing for clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other life sciences industry.
