The Role

As part of the Global Litigation and Investigations Team within the General Counsel’s Organization, and under the supervision of the Manager & Counsel, the Law Clerk is responsible for the end-to-end processing of garnishments, levies, and other similar legal orders and providing other administrative and litigation support as required.

The Law Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Intake, processing and responding to garnishments, levies, asset freezes, restraining notices and information subpoenas and similar legal orders as required.
  • Providing litigation support for discovery requests.
  • Providing administrative support to the legal order processing team.
  • Ensuring that responses to third-party legal orders meet the requirements of any applicable federal and state laws.
  • Consistently demonstrating a strong regulatory understanding of the policies and procedures related to processing legal orders.
  • Escalating legal orders to the Manager & Counsel when required.
  • Performing other work-related duties as required.
  • Supporting projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a legal assistant in a law firm or in house legal department role preferred.
  • Experience processing levies, garnishments, and other legal orders.
  • Self-motivated, high level of personal energy and commitment
  • Experience applying UDAP and the Truth in Lending Act
  • Experience in development and marketing of financial products is a plus
