Position: Commercial Litigation Financial Services Associate

Description: Steptoe LLP seeks a mid-level Associate to join the Firm’s Los Angeles or Century City office in our Financial Services and Consumer Products Litigation practice. Qualified candidates will have 4 to 6 years of litigation experience with financial institutions, including banks, credit card issuers, loan servicers, and automobile lenders at both the trial and appellate levels. Ideal candidate will be familiar working under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, Fair Credit Report Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Truth In Lending Act, and state unfair practices laws.

Candidates should be prepared to assume significant responsibility in the management of their matters, and to take on a front-facing role with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.

California bar membership, excellent academic credentials, and strong writing and analytical skills are required. Steptoe offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits in a collegial working environment that offers training and mentorship. The expected salary for this position is $295,000 – $370,000, depending on experience.

Membership to the California Bar, active and in good standing, is also required.
