Sesame Workshop
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, has promoted Myung Kang-Huneke to vice president and general counsel. Kang-Huneke will oversee the legal department and serve as board secretary to the Board of Trustees. Kang-Huneke joined Sesame Workshop seven years ago. Most recently, she served as vice president, legal and business affairs, where she was the primary lawyer for the organization’s licensing and merchandising division. Kang-Huneke was responsible for supporting the expansion of Sesame Workshop brands through product licensing as well as promotional, retail, and representation agreements for the Sesame Street and Dragon Tales products both domestically and internationally.
Prior to joining the Workshop, Kang-Huneke was a general attorney for the New Media and Cable Group at ABC, Inc. (The Walt Disney Company), where she handled legal and business affairs for ABC’s new media ventures. Previously, she was a litigation attorney for ABC and represented the company and its affiliates in employment, first amendment, and commercial litigation matters. Kang-Huneke also served as a litigator for the New York City Housing Authority. She began her legal career as an associate for the law firm Proskauer Rose in New York City.
Kang-Huneke graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar from the Columbia University School of Law in 1989. She also holds a liberal arts degree from the Eugene Lang College of the New School.
