Monica Richman has been promoted to partner in the New York office of Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP. She also heads the firm’s Trademark Group and is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department.
Richman has broad experience in the areas of trademark and copyright law, including counseling, licensing, trademark portfolio management, and intellectual property issues related to secured transactions, acquisitions, and litigations. She represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including financial services, insurance, technology, new media, gaming, entertainment, retail, real estate, and publishing. Previously, she served as law clerk to the Hon. Loren A. Smith, former chief judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims from 1995–96.
Richman earned her bachelor of business administration in finance (magna cum laude) from George Washington University in 1991, and her juris doctorate from Emory University School of Law in 1995.
