Johnnie P. Barnes has been named a partner at Baker & Hostetler, where she is a member of the Employment and Labor Group.
With a concentration in employment and labor law and business litigation matters, Barnes has assisted clients in the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as analogous state statutes, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and National Labor Relations Board practices. She has experience in various business litigation matters, including noncompete agreements, contract disputes, trade secrets, and property interest.
Barnes is a commissioner with the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, a member of the Prettyman-Leventhal American Inn of Court, and an instructor of the Court Practice component of the Mandatory District of Columbia Bar Course. She has also been a featured speaker on sports-related matters at various associations.
Barnes earned her juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree with honors from Case Western Reserve University. She is a member and has been admitted to several bar associations, including the District of Columbia and Ohio Bar Associations.
