Daniel J. Hurtado is a partner at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office.
Mr. Hurtado is a member of the firm’s intellectual property and technology law, class action litigation practices and has substantial experience handling complex business matters, including patent disputes. Mr. Hurtado plays a major role in the firm’s pro bono practice, focusing on civil rights litigation. He has represented plaintiffs in both federal and state courts in cases involving hate crime, employment discrimination, and housing discrimination.
In 1998, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Public Interest Law Initiative. He also received the Chicago Bar Associations “Vanguard” Award.
Mr. Hurtado serves on the board of directors of the Legal Assistance Foundation and is an advisory board member of the Project to Combat Bias Violence. He was also elected as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
In 1993, he graduated from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was an articles editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He also served as president of the Hispanic Law Students Association while attending Northwestern University.
