Carlos E. Vásquez leads Visa’s legal function for the Latin America and Caribbean region and global technology sourcing. In this role, his responsibilities include leading the company’s regulatory, commercial legal, and litigation matters related to Visa’s operations in the LAC region, as well as global commercial technology agreements.
Carlos has worked at Visa for 25 years in various legal roles supporting Visa’s LAC regional and global operations. Among other key projects, he established the government relations function in LAC, worked on Visa’s pre-ipo global corporate restructuring, and led the strategic legal advisory to the LAC regional Board of Directors in the merger negotiations of the multiple regional Visa entities that resulted in a single global company. Prior to joining Visa, Carlos worked at Sucre, Arias & Reyes, an international law firm in Panama City, Panama, focused on corporate and commercial law.
Carlos leads the Inclusion & Diversity Committee of Visa’s Legal & Compliance Department.
He received his B.A. in finance, with honors, from Loyola Marymount University and his J.D. from Boston College Law School.
