Minority Corporate Counsel Association Announces New Award
Washington, DC − The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has has opened submissions for its newest award, the 2011 Innovator Award, from now until August 31, 2011.
This award will be bestowed upon U.S. in-house legal departments, or law firms, or bar associations or legal organizations that have led the way with innovative best practices to assist diverse attorneys in the following categories:
- Mentoring
- Pipeline Initiative
- Recruitment and Retention
- LGBT Initiatives
- Other diversity initiatives are welcome for consideration, but must be pre-approved by MCCA’s Director of Membership and Development.
To be eligible to win, legal departments, law firms or legal organizations, whose membership base consists of either in-house or outside counsel, must submit a written description (no less than 500 words) summarizing a diversity program aligned with the categories listed above. A statement of metric showing measurable results is recommended.
All submissions also must include an organization description and a logo sent as separate attachments. All submissions must be sent electronically by August 31, 2011 to MCCA’s Director of Membership and Development at davidchu@mcca.com.
Award winners will be honored at the Diversity Innovators Awards Reception following the Pathways Conference in New York City on September 26, 2011 and also will be announced at the Diversity Honors Gala at the Lincoln Center the following night, September 27, 2011.
