Ikon General Counsel Don Liu Honored for Championing Diversity
Don Liu, senior vice president and general counsel of IKON Office Solutions, was awarded the "Business Leadership Award" by the Korean American Coalition (KAC) during its second annual national convention, which was held last September in Washington, DC.
Liu was honored for his support of the Korean American community and for his achievements in America's corporate arena.
"Don Liu exemplifies the American dream and the mission of the Korean American Coalition—from immigrant to general counsel in one of America's great, innovative companies," says Howard Halm, chair of KAC's National Board and former president of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, where he chairs the In-House Committee.
Liu has also championed a greater understanding and commitment to diversity, including the development of the IKON Diversity Council, which he helped to form in 1999 to promote diversity within IKON and the community at large.
"Diversity is not only one of IKON's corporate values, it is also a key business priority for the company," says Matthew J. Espe, IKON chairman and CEO. "Don Liu's dedication to promoting diversity, both at IKON and in the community, sets an example that we all strive to emulate. We congratulate him on this much deserved recognition," he enthuses.
Earlier this year, Liu was awarded the 2004 Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey Annual Achievement Award. Liu is also a member of MCCA's board of directors.
HOT JOBS
On the last Friday of every month, MCCA® will send by email blast a list consisting of Hot Job announcements to the members of our network. If you are an employee who would like to submit a job announcement for inclusion in the blast, please forward a brief listing that has no more than 1000 characters or less to jenchen@mcca.com by the 20th of each month.
All submissions should include your company's name, title of position, location of job, a brief description, and contact information for how to apply. The services are free and MCCA will make every effort to include all submissions.
