Human Rights Campaign Honored with Paula Ettelbrick Award

WASHINGTON – The Minority Corporate Counsel Association will honor the Human Rights Campaign with the 2013 Paula L. Ettelbrick Award. The award will be presented at MCCA’s Creating Pathways to Diversity® Conference on Sept. 16 in New York City.

The Paula L. Ettelbrick Award celebrates extraordinary achievements by an individual or organization in advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender attorneys. The award is named for the late Paula L. Ettelbrick whose quarter-century of work for organizations like Lambda Legal, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and the International Lesbian and Gay Human Rights Commission assisted thousands of individuals.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is receiving the award for its work promoting equality for all Americans. Among its many outreaches, the HRC has championed marriage equality, and has worked to create a support network for LGBT teens and to prevent bullying. HRC promotes LGBT workers’ rights and seeks to prevent transgender discrimination.
