Candidate for National Bar Association President-Elect
Clyde E. Bailey
Clyde E. Bailey, patent counsel at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York, has been an active member of the National Bar Association (NBA) for nearly two decades. Bailey is currently vice president and is responsible for the NBA’s 87 regions and affiliate chapters.
Bailey has held a host of bar leadership positions including vice president of sections and divisions, chair of the intellectual property law section, chair of the government lawyers division, and chair of the international affiliate meeting.
In recognition of Bailey’s leadership and achievements, he received the NBA’s prestigious Presidential Award in 1996, 1999, and 2001. He was also the recipient of the 1998 Outstanding Section of the Year Award.
This year, Bailey puts his sights on the NBA president-elect position, one of several offices being decided during the 77th Annual Meeting in San Francisco from July 27 through August 3, 2002.
Bailey intends to concentrate attention in areas he deems important to the legacy of the NBA including actively engaging the public, particularly our communities and our members; ensuring proportionate minority and female participation in corporate and institutional outside counsel spending programs; and enhancing the association’s influence on public policy.
Bailey is the recipient of both a B.S. in mathematics and a M.S. in physics from Virginia State University, a M.S. in materials science from the University of Rochester, a juris doctor from Cleveland State University, and an LL.M. in patent and trade regulations law from the George Washington University.
