Mcca Announces Annual Diversity Gala Employer of Choice Award Honorees
From Among Leading U.S. Corporate Legal Departments
Honorees Selected for Industry Leadership and Achievements in their Diversity Programs
WASHINGTON D.C. – The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) announced today the five recipients of the 2015 Employer of Choice Awards, who will be honored during the 2015 Diversity Gala on June 30th at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The honorees will be featured in MCCA’s inaugural Employer of Choice panel during a plenary session at the Pathways Conference, a full-day educational conference that convenes legal professionals and experts and promotes the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, the day prior to the Diversity Gala.
“I am excited to be honoring and recognizing our five corporate honorees this year for their leadership and example of corporate diversity,” stated Joseph K. West, President and CEO of MCCA. “The Employer of Choice Award offers a platform to Fortune 500 companies who recognize the value and positive impact of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and on the bottom line. The Employer of Choice Award is designed to spotlight industry leaders who have a commitment to and succeed at creating and maintaining an inclusive corporate legal department. The 2015 Employer of Choice Award recipients for the five regions are:
- Fannie Mae, for the Mid-Atlantic Region
- BMO Financial Group, for the Midwest Region
- Darden Restaurants, for the South Region
- Southern California Edison Company, for the West Region
- New York Life Insurance Company, for the Northeast Region
We are also very pleased to announce that the Dance Theatre of Harlem will honor us as our artistic performance for the evening. Founded in 1969 as “one of ballet’s most exciting undertakings,” Dance Theatre of Harlem is a leading dance institution of global acclaim, encompassing a performing ensemble, a leading arts education center and “Dancing Through Barriers,” a national and international education and community outreach program. Dance Theatre of Harlem has performed for numerous dignitaries including the First Lady, Michelle Obama, former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and royal families from across the globe.
