MCCA’s annual U.S. Law Firm Diversity Survey was developed in partnership with general counsel in response to the 2004 Chief Legal Officers’ Call to Action. This longstanding commitment made by hundreds of general counsels who wanted to increase diversity in the legal profession and “demonstrate to law firms that it is imperative for them to distinguish themselves in the area of diversity in order to transact business with companies that view diversity, equity, and inclusion as a way of life.”
Past survey reports can be accessed through MCCA’s Member Portal.
If you are a law firm, please take part in this survey to show your firm’s support for diversity and collectively address the growing requests from clients who seek to better understand and benchmark firms’ quantitative and qualitative diversity, equity, and inclusion data and analysis. You will receive a MCCA Scorecard based on responses to the Survey.
If you are a corporate law department, please promote our comprehensive survey to your outside counsel as we work together to provide the legal profession with measurable metrics and industry benchmarks.
How to take the survey
- Submit your points of contact (POC) for the 2025 U.S. Law Firm Diversity Survey HERE (we request only one person to submit all POCs).
- If you have not received your survey link and submitted survey contacts, please email Education@mcca.com.
- Ensure all POCs have added noreply@qemailserver.com, info@mcca.com, and education@mcca.com to their safe sender list.
- Receive your Law Firm Diversity Survey link within 1-2 business days
- Survey Deadline: Friday, March 14, 2025, 11:59PM ET.

IS THIS THE SAME SURVEY AS THE GLOBAL LAW FIRM DIVERSITY SURVEY & CORPORATE DEMOGRAPHIC SURVEY?
No. The U.S. Law Firm Diversity Survey collects data from U.S. law firms only. The Global Law Firm Diversity Survey collects data from the following different global regions: Canada, United Kingdom/Europe, Africa, Middle East, Central & South America, and/or Asia.
The Corporate Demographic Survey is for corporate legal departments only. Although similar to the Law Firm Survey in format, the Corporate Demographic Survey questions focus on the unique issues facing corporate legal companies.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE U.S. LAW FIRM DIVERSITY SURVEY?
Law firms that have an office location in the United States may participate in the U.S. Law Firm Diversity Survey. A law firm does NOT need to be an MCCA member to participate.
IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SURVEY?
No.

WHAT IF I CANNOT ANSWER A QUESTION DUE TO MY FIRM’s PRIVACY RULES?
To the extent you are restricted from asking or providing any information that is set out in the Survey, please answer the questions to the best of your ability, respecting the applicable laws and policies. In such a case, please indicate the restrictions in your reply. You may use the comment boxes under the tables to explain the absence of data (for example, if the firm does not track data for a particular demographic category or there is a restriction that does not allow the firm to share the information requested). We encourage you to answer all your questions.

Survey links will be shared with those who have submitted their main POCs HERE.
