Laurie Nicole Robinson is the assistant general counsel in the labor and employment division at CBS Broadcasting Inc. In addition to being assistant general counsel, Robinson was recently promoted to the newly created leadership position of director of CBS training and development. Prior to joining CBS, she worked at two New York City law firms, Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Epstein, Becker and Green, P. C. Prior to that, she worked at the National Football League in New York City.
Robinson is the author of several legal-related publications and has presented before many organizations. In 2005, Robinson was recognized by The Coca-Cola Company’s legal department and received the Women’s Venture Fund’s Highest Leaf Award, the Charting Your Own Course Spirit Award, and the Black Women Lawyer’s (Los Angeles) Power of One Award. She was also featured in the March 2006 issue of Ebony Magazine. She was named to the Network Journal’s 40 Under Forty List and was highlighted as one of the legal industry’s women leaders in Vault’s View From the Top: Advice from Legal Women Leaders. In 2006, she was named a Power Broker by Inside Counsel in its General Counsel list of the 50 most influential in-house counsel in North America.
Robinson matriculated at North Carolina Central University and received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1994. She attended Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington and received her juris doctorate in 1998.
