Judith Colbert, a lawyer with a distinguished career representing major corporations and municipalities in all aspects of employment law, has opened an office in Houston, Texas.
The Law Offices of Judith Colbert will focus on litigation, arbitrations, employment law training, EEO investigations, regulatory compliance, and corporate diversity counseling. Colbert has defended employers in matters involving the U.S. Department of Justice, Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, Department of Labor, and other agencies in numerous states. A partner in major law firms in Texas and Oklahoma, Colbert recently served as co-chair of the Labor and Employment Section of Godwin Gruber LLP in Texas.
Colbert serves as editor for the monthly newsletter Preventing Employment Law Problems in the Texas Workplace. She conducts employment training for companies and develops strategies to address employment matters before litigation ensues.
Colbert has received numerous awards, including a selection as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine; the Distinguished Service Award from the Federal Bar Association (Tulsa Chapter); the Corporate/Business Pinnacle Award from the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women; the Outstanding Project Award from the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Inc.; and the 10 Outstanding Tulsans Award from the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce. Some of her memberships include the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Fifth Circuit Bar Association, the National Employment Law Council, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Colbert earned her bachelor’s degree at Northeastern State University and juris doctorate at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, both with honors. She is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma.
