Grace R. den Hartog has been named senior vice president and general counsel at Owens & Minor, a distributor of national name-brand medical/surgical supplies. Ms. den Hartog had been a partner with McGuireWoods, LLP. Ms. den Hartog has an extensive background in litigation, and was also the former chair of the firm’s product liability and litigation management department. In this position, she assumed management and practice responsibility for a group of 35 attorneys. Ms. den Hartog also served on the firm’s associates committee from 1991-1997, with responsibility for performance evaluation and compensation setting for the firm’s 300 associate and staff lawyers in offices in Europe and the United States. She has also participated as a guest lecturer in various CLE seminars. Ms. den Hartog earned her B.A. from the Westhampton College at the University of Richmond, and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1980 and the Texas Bar in 1993. The National Law Journal has recognized Ms. den Hartog as one of the top 50 women trial counsel in the country.
