Delaware-based Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP has named Emilie Rajaratnam Ninan partner. Ninan’s practice focuses on the areas of public finance and commercial transactions. In addition, she provides advice on Uniform Commercial Code matters and delivers formal legal opinions in connection with various financing transactions. She has served as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel and borrower’s counsel on a variety of tax-exempt bond financings.
A former ambassador of the American Bar Association’s Section on Business Law, Ninan is the recipient of the 2004 Leadership Award of the Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA). An active participant in legal and community organizations, she currently serves as the secretary of the DSBA’s Commercial Law Section and as vice president of the South Asian Bar Association of Philadelphia.
Ninan joined the firm after earning her juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. She also holds an M.B.A. from Georgetown University School of Business and a B.B.A., summa cum laude, from Temple University.
