MCCA Hires Kim Howard to Run Flagship Publication Diversity & the Bar
WASHINGTON D.C. – The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has hired the former Publisher of the ACC Docket, Kim Howard, to oversee its flagship publication, Diversity & the Bar. While under her direction at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the flagship publication ACC Docket and its supplemental newsletters won 80 percent of the awards the publishing department earned, including two writing awards for her blog posts. During her eight years with ACC, the magazine doubled its editorial content in both the print and digital space, launched its mobile app and continued to increase revenue.
“Kim Howard is an extraordinary talent who brings both a wealth of experience and a range of valuable contacts to the helm of Diversity & The Bar,” said Joseph K. West, MCCA President and CEO. “She will help accomplish the goal of strengthening the publication’s substantive content while still staying true to its core diversity and inclusion function. We are fortunate to have her join us.”
Howard said, “I am thrilled to be working with the executive leadership team and the members at MCCA on such a crucial publication. Diversity & the Bar is a unique brand within the legal space. Continuing to expand and improve upon that brand while delivering content that the members can use is a challenge that I am looking forward to.”
Howard is a certified association executive (CAE) through ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership. She holds an MA in publications design from the University of Baltimore, a BS in journalism and public relations from Troy University and has attended the Mini MBA program at Boston University. Howard currently serves as the president of the board of directors of Association Media & Publishing.
