The reception was hosted by Pepper Hamilton LLP and held at the firm's office downtown.
"These judges have made compelling contributions to the field of women's rights in Afghanistan and Iraq," says Donald H. Green, of counsel to Pepper Hamilton and a member of IAWJ's board of managerial trustees. "Their resolve to make better the lives of those around them is truly inspirational."

CONGRATULATIONS MID-ATLANTIC REGION AWARD WINNERS
Join us as we congratulate the 2005 Mid-Atlantic region Employers of Choice, Thomas L. Sager, and Special Achievement Award honorees.
In June, MCCA® presented two companies with distinguished awards for their diversity work and commitment to an inclusive work environment. Robert A. Lonergan, vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, Rohm and Haas Company; and Thomas P. Dale, executive vice president and general counsel, Rolls-Royce North America Inc., were the recipients of the Employers of Choice award. This award was designed to spotlight industry leaders who have a commitment to, and succeed at, creating and maintaining an inclusive corporate legal department.
The Special Achievement Award is given to companies that fall outside of the traditional corporate setting in recognition of that organization's diversity programs, which serve as a model for other law departments. Mary Anne Gibbons, senior vice president, general counsel, United States Postal Service, accepted the award.
The Thomas L. Sager Award, named in honor of DuPont Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Thomas L. Sager, is presented to law firms that have demonstrated sustained commitment to improve hiring, retention, and promotion of minority attorneys. The Sager award was accepted by Kevin P. Chavous, partner, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP.
The evening's keynote address was given by the Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr. of the U.S. District Court of Maryland.
