Appointed to Governor Bob Taft’s Minority Business Council

Michael E. Flowers, a partner at the law firm of Bricker & Eckler LLP, has been appointed to Ohio State Governor Bob Taft’s newly established Minority Business Council.

Mr. Flowers was nominated by the leadership of the Ohio State Bar Association to serve as its representative to the Council. Recognizing that the economic health of Ohio depends upon the ability of all businesses to grow and prosper, the Governor’s Minority Business Council was created to provide fair economic opportunities for minority businesses in Ohio’s marketplace.

The Council will advise the Governor’s administration on matters of concern to minority businesses and will assist in formulating strategies to achieve business and economic development objectives benefiting both minority businesses and the state of Ohio.

Mr. Flowers practices general corporate and business law. He is a member of the National Bar Association, a member of the editorial board of the Practical Lawyer, and a founding member of the editorial board of Business Law Today.

Equally active in his community, Mr. Flowers is a vice chair of the COSI Columbus Board of Trustees, a trustee of the Columbus Urban Growth Corporation, and the vice chair of the Mount Carmel Health Foundation.
